Grade 1 & 2 Theory Course and Exam

How to Book

For ages 7-17. Day 1: Monday, 18 January 8:30am-1:00pm Day 2: Tuesday, 19 January 8:30am-1:00pm The course will be taught by the Academy Director, an award-winning former lecturer of music theory. The exams are Theory of Music Grades 1 and 2 through the Australian Music Examination Board - the most widely recognised music examination body in Australia. REQUIRED: Students require a grade 1 or grade 2 theory book. If students don't have the required book, it can be purchased from us upon arrival. Contact us if you're not sure what to do. Students require a laptop to connect to our wifi and sit the exam at the end of the course. Students will be supervised by our staff during the exam. Students should bring their own snacks and lunch. PRICE: The price includes the exam fee of $75. This fee is set by the Australia Music Examination Board. The grades 1 and 2 exams are 1 and 2 hours respectively. Students typically take 45-60 minutes to complete. The exams will commence at 11:00am on the Tuesday.
